Main River Quarter Horses was established in 1992, and is owned by Johannes and Astrid Orgeldinger. Johannes and Astrid make their home in Grosswallstadt, Germany, where their JOMM RANCH is a center for boarding, breeding, and training.
Johannes is an AQHA Past President, as well as a German Quarter Horse Association Past President. Both he and Astrid are still very much involved with the AQHA, and in raising horses for AQHA, NRHA, and NCHA competition. They have been very successful in the show pen, achieving European and German championships in multiple disciplines.
Johannes is inducted in the Hall of Fame of the American Quarter Horse Association, the German Quarter Horse Association and the National Reining Horse Association of Germany.

Dick Herr retired in 2012. He was the ranch manager at Main River for over 20 years. A former AQHA judge and PRCA competitor, Dick provided dedicated service during his time at Main River, for which we are very grateful. Dick still resides at the ranch with his wife, Kendall. Kendall breeds some of the nation’s finest Labrador retrievers under the name of her Dickendall Kennel.
